Dallas, TX -- Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now shipping the Intel® NUC with Intel® Atom™ processor E3815 Board and Kit. At only 7.48"x4.56"x1.57" (190x16x40mm), this new compact computer is built on the 22nm, 1.46GHz Intel Atom processor E3815 - Intel's 64-bit System on Chip (SoC). The NUC targets compact intelligent systems that require high performance data, graphics and media capabilities over a wide temperature range.
The Intel NUC with Intel Atom processor E3815 Board and Kit available from Mouser Electronics is a portable yet powerful computer system that is about the size of a paperback novel. It features a fanless design and is expandable to up to 8GBytes of DDR3L SO-DIMM RAM. There is internal support for a 2.5 inch hard disk drive or an Intel® Solid State Drive. One USB 3.0 port is on the front panel and two USB 2.0 ports are in the back, along with three internal USB 2.0 ports. Video is supported by a VGA port as well as an HDMI 1.4a port. Gigabit Ethernet LAN is onboard along with an internal Wi-Fi antenna. An internal mini-PCI port supports a wide variety of Wi-Fi cards. Audio I/O is provided by headphone and microphone jacks with support for Intel HD Audio.
For more simple computing needs, Mouser Electronics is also shipping the Intel NUC with Intel® Celeron® processor N2820. A slightly smaller form factor, the Intel NUC with Intel Celeron processor N2820 has similar specifications except for its use of a 64-bit 2.39GHz Intel Celeron N2820 processor. Video is supported by one HDMI 1.4a port.
These Intel NUCs are designed as essential building blocks for the thin client market. Both Linux and Windows Embedded operating systems are supported. Applications for these Intel NUCs include digital signage, point-of-sale systems, and kiosk solutions. Developers can expand these applications to include custom DVR systems and other portable computing platforms.
