The high-flex-life MVC-800 FireWire cable from Northwire Inc., Osceola, WI, can withstand 11 million flex cycles in bending, rolling, and torsional tests. It is offered in standard 4.5 m or extended lengths (up to 7 m) and is a rough service industrial-strength AWM-style cable with UL and CSA certifications. For optimal shielding, cables have a foil/polyester tape shield with 2 drainwires and an overall tinned copper braid. Outer jacket is oil-resistant TPE and the cable is flame rated to FT-1.
