Energy Harvesting Dev Kit from Microchip

Microchip Technology Inc., Chandler, AZ, has partnered with Cymbet Corp. to offer the XLP 16-bit Energy Harvesting Development Kit. The kit includes a modular development board populated with the PIC24F16KA102 low-power microcontroller and with the ability to add PICtail daughter boards to evaluate a variety of system functions, including ZigBee and proprietary wireless connectivity, and SD memory cards. The microcontroller lets you operate from the included Cymbet EnerChip EH Eval-08 energy harvesting board that harvests solar energy and stores it in the EnerChip solid-state, rechargeable energy storage devices. Algorithms developed by the two companies monitor power condition and capacity.
