The NQ6D demo board from iC-Haus GmbH, Bodenheim, Germany, uses the company's iC-NQ and iC-NQC sine interpolators and lets you evaluate encoders. The interpolator's serial BiSS interface permits clock-synchronized measurements from boards docked to one another, allowing you to perform position sensing along several axes. You can insert optional components into the board's DIL sockets to adapt the board for sine encoders with 1 V or 11 µA interfaces or for incremental encoders with TTL signals. The iC-NQ and iC-NQC provide interpolation resolutions of up to 13 bits and operate at 70 MHz (typ.) for raster-free ADC and angle tracking; they have integrated conditioning circuits to compensate for offset, amplitude, and phase errors. The NQ6D board separates the digital and analog circuit components to prevent crosstalk and provides a range of possible connections.
