The 2.2 by 2.2 mm BMC150 six-axis electronic compass module from Bosch Sensortec GmbH, Reutlingen, Germany, combines a triaxial geomagnetic sensor and a triaxial accelerometer in a single package. Both sensors form a logical and functional unit, since the g-vector generated by the accelerometer is required to calculate the tilt compensation for the azimuth data produced by the FlipCore geomagnetic sensor. Measurement range is ±1300 µT/axis with 0.3 µT resolution for the geomagnetic sensor and programmable ±2 g, ±4, ±8 g, or ±16 g with 12-bit resolution for the accelerometer. Other features include a FIFO buffer, an integrated smart interrupt engine, and sensor data fusion software for tilt compensation.
