ROCKVILLE, MD /BUSINESS WIRE/ -- 3e Technologies International, an Ultra Electronics company and a leading provider of government-validated, secure network solutions that enable security for critical information systems, infrastructure protection, and industrial automation, announced the approval of 3eTI's AirGuard wireless mesh devices for the DoD's Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL).

The UC APL maintains a list of products that have achieved open standards–based interoperability and information assurance certification in keeping with the DoD's information technology mandates, and ensures products meet the ever-demanding security requirements of the DoD. 3eTI's AirGuard UC APL certification reflects a higher, more stringent degree of approval, achieved after extremely rigorous testing.

"We are extremely proud to have achieved this status after extensive testing in accordance with the Unified Capabilities criteria," states Benga Erinle, President of 3eTI. "Achieving this certification is yet another example of 3eTI's mission to provide our customers with best-in-class information assurance and interoperability. As we move into the future with the UC APL approval, we will continue to be a significant contributor of secure wireless mesh devices and systems for the DoD."

3eTI's AirGuard secure wireless mesh devices are FIPS 140-2-validated and Common Criteria–certified, providing wireless access and backhaul connectivity in fixed, mobile, and portable applications. The AirGuard products are currently deployed widely across the military, including on U.S. Navy vessels and bases around the world, providing secure wireless mesh connectivity, designed to ensure always-on availability and built to withstand harsh environments required by critical applications.

"We appreciate the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) recommendation, which placed us in the pool of candidates for evaluation," says Thurston Brooks, Vice President of Product Marketing at 3eTI. "3eTI was sponsored for testing by two separate directorates of the U.S. Army. Sponsorship is a requisite first hurdle that all product submissions must pass in the evaluation process. Working hand in hand with the Unified Capabilities Certification Office (UCCO) and Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC), we now have a better product that meets mission requirements."
