The ADT7420 and ADT7320 from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, are fully calibrated, 16-bit, high-linearity digital temperature sensors that provide ±0.25°C accuracy over a –20°C to 105°C temperature range and ±0.5°C over a –40°C to 125°C range. The sensors are available with I2C (ADT7420) or SPI (ADT7320) interfaces and operate from 2.7–5.5 V supply voltages with an operating temperature range of –40°C to 150°C. Supply current is 210 µA typ. at 3.3 V. Features include a 1 sps mode that draws 46 µA typ. at 3.3 V, a shutdown mode that draws 2 µA, and programmable over/under temperature and critical temperature indicators.
