Digital Orientation Sensor from MEMSIC

The MXC6225XU 2-axis motion/orientation sensor from MEMSIC Inc., Andover, MA, is the first member of the company's Digital Thermal Orientation Sensor family designed for use in mobile phones, toys/games, digital cameras, flat-panel TVs, appliances, and other consumer electronics products. Based on the company's thermal-based MEMS sensors, the 3 by 3 by 1.05 mm device is an alternative to ball sensor products and features ±50 mg zero g offset over the operating temperature range, 50,000 G shock survivability, no moving parts, an I²C interface, power-down mode, and a 2.5–5.5 V operating voltage.
