The ICS I-A1 from Micro Oscillator Inc., Bala Cynwyd, PA, is a high-voltage, high-side, isolated, DC integrating current sensor system for use in battery monitoring and motor and servo control in automotive and industrial applications. A built-in integrator performs virtually continuous measurement of the current; all spikes and dips, over a DC to 130 kHz range, are averaged together. The frequency output signal can be connected directly to a counter, eliminating the need for sampling circuitry and ADCs. A F.S. voltage drop of 20 mV is required to measure the current. The device has a built-in sense resistor divider configuration for improved accuracy over temperature.
