Murata Power Solutions (formerly the Power Electronics Div., C&D Technologies), Mansfield, MA, offers the 5300, 5400, and 5500 Series of surface-mount current sense transformers for measuring and monitoring AC currents in high-frequency applications. All of the devices are RoHS-compliant and feature UL94 V-0 package materials, a frequency range of 50 kHz to 500 kHz, and compliance with the J-STD-020C standard for reflow soldering. The 5300 Series measures AC currents up to 10 A and is available with primary current ratings to 10 A and between 20–200 turns, depending on the resolution desired. The 5400 and 5500 Series measure AC currents up to 15A and are available with 50, 100, or 200 turns. Primary to secondary isolation is 1200 Vrms (5400) or 1000 Vrms (5500). Applications include switched-mode power supplies and motor controllers.
