GE Sensing, Billerica, MA, offers the Safeaire Plus T6603-3 and T6603-5 carbon dioxide (CO₂) sensor modules for residential and industrial applications. The device uses the absorption of light in a gold-plated reflective light pipe or waveguide diffusion gas chamber to measure CO₂ concentration; light is absorbed in proportion to concentration and remaining light is measured and converted to an analog signal. ABC Logic software ensures self-correction of drift to better than ±20 ppm/yr. Applications include air quality monitoring, automotive refrigerant and commercial appliance safety, as well as a range of health, safety, and comfort uses.
