Chromalox Introduces Supervisory Control Software for Heat Trace Control Panels

PITTSBURGH, PA -- Chromalox announces the availability of intelliTRACE Supervisory Control (ISC). Offered as PC software or as an industrial touchscreen HMI, ISC monitors and manages multiple intelliTrace control panels from a central location. Connected heat trace control panels can include Chromalox ITAS, ITLS, ITASC1D2 and ITLSC1D2 models. ISC permits the managing and monitoring of thousands of heat trace circuits.

With ISC, users can remotely take advantage of several system-wide capabilities. Users can view alarm indications via five separate user-defined levels – from a corporate level down to individual circuits. Device and circuit IDs can be assigned. A user can check system circuit health at a single glance, and they can receive email notification of selected alarm events. Communications take place via Modbus TCP/Ethernet or RTU/RS485.

According to Scott Treser, Director - Controls and Panel Development for Chromalox, users can quickly set up and operate ISC. "Intuitive Windows-based screens and global parameter settings enable system commissioning in minutes," he says. "Users can navigate to an intelliTRACE control panel within one to three mouse clicks. One additional click takes them to individual circuit detail within a panel."

Additionally,Treser says that ISC offers several features for special situations. These include a proprietary soft start algorithm, sensor and output mapping, intermittent exercising of system circuits (during downtimes), and global application of parameter settings. An ISC spreadsheet organizes panel setups, parameter values, and circuits, making it easy for users to comprehend system scope.

Industrial Touchscreen versions of ISC may be purchased in stand-alone enclosures, incorporated in panels, or mounted by the customer. The ISC software can be downloaded to desktops, laptops, or industrial PCs meeting sufficient requirements.
