Celeno Quicksilver 11ac Wave 2 Silicon is Integrated with Intel Puma 7 DOCSIS 3.1

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Celeno Communications announces that its next generation Quicksilver 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 standards-based silicon solution is fully integrated with the Intel® Puma™ 7 Reference Design as well as the RDK-B software frame work for broadband devices. The Celeno technology offers 4x times the speed by supporting four simultaneous streams, three concurrent Multi-User devices as well as 80MHz and 160 MHz Wi-Fi channels.

Beyond the improvements in speed, Celeno's innovative technology embedded in the Quicksilver product family raises the bar on Wi-Fi reliability and quality of service, a critical issue for demanding 4K video user experience in a wireless environment and spectrum rapidly filling with more connected devices and access points.

Celeno's Quicksilver architecture includes ArgusTM in-chip, dedicated RF circuitry and DSP-based engine for spectrum scanner and analyzer. The Argus engine enables zero wait DFS channels entry and automatic, seamless channel change that are critical for satisfying 4K video experience in "real life" congested spectrum environment. The technology enables the Gateway to seamlessly transition between Wi-Fi channels to seek the cleanest spectrum for best operation. This transition is non service affecting with flicker free video and doesn't downsize the radio dimensioning.

Celeno's OptimizAIR 2.0 virtual Wi-Fi technology enables partitioning of the physical Radio into multiple managed SSIDs and managed clients each with its own defined and enforced capacity. Thus, 4K user experience remains intact even with multiple STB's and many high speed data clients all sharing the same Wi-Fi radio.

"Cable operators are transitioning to an all-IP infrastructure and CPE to support anywhere, anytime media consumption in the home. Wi-Fi is a critical part of this transitioning allowing ubiquitous connectivity to portable devices as well as flexibly-located wireless STBs," said Gilad Rozen, CEO and Founder of Celeno. "Smart spectrum management and Wi-Fi capacity management are critical technologies for a satisfying consumer experience of an all-IP 4K Pay-TV consumption over Wi-Fi."

"As a Cable CPE market leader, Intel continues to open its gateway platforms to innovators like Celeno to bring the latest Wi-Fi technology to the market," said Keith Wehmeyer, General Manager of Intel's Connected Home Division Cable Business Line. "Expanding support for Celeno's 4x4 11ac Wi-Fi solution on the Intel Puma 7 reference design ensures a solid and robust Wi-Fi ecosystem that allows Intel based gateways to deliver outstanding user experience in the home."
