The AMIS-74980x from AMI Semiconductor Inc., Pocatello, ID, is designed to emulate the human eye, providing an output proportional to ambient light and allowing adjustable brightness and contrast in electronics displays and automotive applications. The analog/digital output device operates over the 3.0–3.6 V supply voltage range, has a 10–100 kHz operating frequency, and a 0°C–70°C operating temperature range. Other features include multiple output options, programmability, the ability to lower dark current, and low power consumption.
