9-Axis Motion Tracking Module from PNI

The SpacePoint Scout development module from PNI Sensor Corp., Santa Rosa, CA, provides gaming application developers with a 9-axis motion tracking module. The device includes a triaxial gyroscope, triaxial accelerometer, and triaxial geomagnetic sensor and integrates sensor fusion algorithms and an I²C interface for quick implementation. The module uses the company's RM3000 magneto-inductive geomagnetic sensor for better resolution and noise than Hall-based magnetic sensors. With its sensor fusion algorithms, the sensor provides accurate pointing and motion tracking in the presence of magnetic anomalies.
