8-Channel PC/104 Serial Module from WinSystems

The PCM-COM8 from WinSystems Inc., Arlington, TX, is an 8-channel PC/104-compatible serial card suited for use in embedded applications that require a large number of serial I/O ports. Each channel supports RS-232, RS-485, and RS-422 and serial interface characteristics are programmable for each channel. Features include two 16C554-compatible quad UARTs, 128 byte TX and RX FIFOs on each channel, short-circuit protection on all outputs, modem control signals, shared interrupt capability with status ID register, data rates to 115,200 bps, software-programmable baud rate generator, software programmable address and interrupt settings, and an operating temperature range of –40°C to 85°C.
