RALEIGH, NC -- Telit Wireless Solutions, the North American technology arm of Telit Communications PLC, announced that its HE863-NAD and HE863-NAR modules have earned certification on the AT&T network. Telit's HE863 is a powerful, low-cost HSPA M2M module in a ball grid array (BGA) form factor that will enable high-bandwidth applications such as surveillance, tracking and consumer electronics devices.
Both HE863 modules support HSPA with 7.2 Mbps download speeds and 5.8 Mbps upload speeds. HE863-NAD is a data-only module specifically designed for the M2M community and the HE863-NAR supports data along with analog and digital voice providing the ability to include voice communications in applications that require this feature.
The HE863 provides access to UMTS/HSPA networks with fall back to GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks, designed for connected devices intended for long-term use and that require rapid data transfer. Regional variants of the module featuring the same form factor provide worldwide compatibility, allowing application developers to design one device for global deployment.

The HE863 measures a compact 31.4 x 41.4 x 2.9 mm and operates at an extended temperature range of –40°C to 85°C. The HE863 family includes features like HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 5.8 Mbps, EDGE, Voice (HE863-NAR), SMS Support, embedded TCP/IP protocol stack, and custom Telit AT commands.
