The ISR 6 Advanced from LumaSense Technologies Inc., Santa Clara, CA, is a digital-ratio, 2-color noncontact pyrometer that lets you improve quality and yield in metal, glass, silicon, and cement manufacturing by more accurately measuring extreme temperatures in harsh environments. The device can measure temperatures between 600°C–3000°C, has a spot size down to 0.7 mm, has a response time <2 ms, and its 2-color method uses adjacent wavelengths for temperature determination. Temperature measurement is largely independent of an object's emissivity and is unaffected by dust and other contaminants in the field of view. Applications include induction heating, annealing, welding, forging, melting, sintering, or growing crystals.
