Maxim Integrated Products

The MAX1329 from Maxim Integrated Products, Sunnyvale, CA, is a low-power DA system that integrates a 12-/16-bit ADC, dual 12-bit force-sense DACs, and voltage references. The 12-bit ADCs's 300 Ksps conversion rate is suited for profiling fast-decaying transient signals, such as those from a blood glucose sensor. Internal dithering and DSP extend the ADCs resolution to 16 bits. The DACs have ±2 LSB INL and ±1 DNL with 10 µs settling times. The device also integrates analog support blocks ideal for portable DA systems. The blocks include op amps, a 16:1 input multiplexer, a PGA, and low-leakage SPDT and SPST solid-state switches. Other features include dual voltage monitors, temperature measurement, and user-programmable general-purpose I/O.
