The RAD-WHG/WLAN-XD from Phoenix Contact, Middletown, PA, is a WirelessHART gateway with an integrated 802.11b/g WLAN transceiver. The 45 mm wide device connects up to 250 WirelessHART field devices, converting HART data to Modbus TCP or HART UDP for integration into most host systems. The Integrated WLAN can serve as the backhaul connection, allowing you to install the gateway in the field closer to the monitored devices. You can also create several smaller clustered WirelessHART networks with a wireless connection to the host system. All programming and diagnostics are accessible via the embedded Web server; you can also program the device using a HART handheld programmer.
