Sensor Developments Inc., Lake Orion, MI, offers a Bluetooth-enabled weld force probe that allows technicians to more easily audit the clamping force between welding electrodes. The probe measures the clamping force and, on power on, links up with a tablet PC or laptop for data recording. Each clamping force measurement is stored automatically along with the date, time, and designation of the welder. The technician uses a GUI to follow a schedule of maintenance for each welder; when audit rounds are complete, the technician can print or save the audit data for QC.
