The XYR6000 position sensor from Honeywell Process Solutions, Phoenix, AZ, works with the company's OneWireless wireless mesh networking system to provide remote monitoring of applications such as valve position or safety shower emergency use. Based on the company's Micro Switch CX hazardous area switch, the sensor has calibration within 270° of rotation to apply in most linear and/or rotary position sensing applications. Its analog output provides true position span output in both percentages and degrees. The device has full UL, ATEX, and IEC Ex approvals and also electronically tags each valve in the system by identifying valves that have degraded or been damaged. Applications include valve position status, manual process valve position, tank overflow alarms, damper and louver position, and gate/door position.
