The T24 radio telemetry system from Applied Measurements Ltd., Aldermaston, U.K., connects to any strain-gauge-based sensor to measure load, pressure, torque, and displacement as well as to standard 0–10 VDC and 4–20 mA sensors. The acquisition module uses a secure transmission network; operates over the 2.4 GHz range; uses a proprietary 804.15.4 chip; coexists with Bluetooth, ZigBee, and WiFi devices without conflicts; and transmits live data over distances up to 120 m LOS. The system includes acquisition, relay output, handheld display, printer, analog output, and USB base station modules. Applications include automotive torque measurement, silo weighing, civil engineering, waste management, and theater and outside events.
