Wireless Sensor System from TR Electronic

TR Electronic North America

The PowerGap wireless sensor system from TR Electronic North America, Troy, MI, inductively supplies power and signals from a fixed part, across an air gap. The system consists of a remote and a base. The remote is the moving part of the system and is typically where sensors and actuators are mounted for sensing and control. The base is the fixed side of the system and lets you mount a power supply, PLC, or other control system on it. When the remote comes into the transmittable field of the base sensor, inductive power is supplied to the remote and the signal is transmitted across the gap. PowerGap systems have up to 64 inputs and 32 outputs of discrete I/O and are DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, and RS-232 compatible. Applications include stamping, metal forming, material handling, and OEM machine building.
