SNAP Link wireless mesh network serial adapters from Synapse Wireless Inc., Huntsville, AL, are available in RS-485/422, and RS-232 versions and are based on the company's SNAP network operating system, which provides instant-on, self-healing automatic mesh networking. The adapters have a range up to 3 miles while delivering 250 Kbps data transfer rates; high-performance versions offer rates up to 2 Mbps. SNAP Link RS-485/422 models operate as a serial RS-485 or RS-422 cable replacement with terminal block and Mini-B USB connectors. SNAP Link RS-232 models operate as serial RS-232 cable replacement and have DP-9 and Mini-B USB connectors. The SNAP Link RS-STX is a SNAP node in a USB stick format that operates as a serial wireless replacement for RS-232, RS-485, and RS-422 cables.
