Wireless Mesh Platform for Smart Grid from Arch Rock

PhyNet-Grid from Arch Rock Corp., San Francisco, CA, is an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and grid communication platform that lets OEMs create interoperable wireless meshed IPv6-based smart meter systems. It provides real-time meter data collection as well as the ability to continue working during a power outage by switching to low-power operation. At the first layer, communication modules with PhyNet-Grid protocol stacks can be embedded in meters or grid devices. The second layer uses an RF mesh network to connect the meters to wide-area edge router hardware with PhyNet-Grid software. At the third layer, head-end appliances host PhyNet-Grid software including interfaces to MDMS systems.
