ASE Industries, Stevenson Ranch, CA, offers the Model 500 Series SNAPSense sensors that are designed to detect the presence of water in schedule 40 PVC pipes. Sensors are factory calibrated and snap onto the PVC pipe so no mounting hardware is required. Devices are available in five pipe sizes from 0.5 in. through 1.5 in. and in 5 VDC or 8–30 VDC supply voltages and offer 30 mA max. current consumption, 0°C–85°C operating temperature range, and 200 mA max. npn open collector load current. Housing is PVC and rated IP67.
