The MiniRAE Lite from RAE Systems Inc., San Jose, CA, is a handheld photoionization detector-based instrument for detecting hydrocarbon-based VOCs. The nonintrinsically safe, waterproof instrument uses standard AA batteries (rechargeable batteries are optional) and is intended to be used for outdoor environmental and construction site use. Measurement range is 0–5000 ppm and measurement response time is <3 s. Other features include a large backlit graphical display and a built-in flashlight.
