The VKG series viscosity-compensating flowmeters and flow switches feature a patented viscosity-compensation system that makes them largely insensitive to viscosity and density changes during operation. It offers viscosity independent behavior for fluids in the range of 1 to 540 cSt (full compensation). Ordinary float-type flow meters experience measurement errors of up to 1000% with this type of a viscosity change in the medium.
