Hawk Measurement, Middleton, MA, offers the Gladiator vibration switch series, suitable for a range of liquids and solids, including slurries and pelletized materials. The devices use two resonating prongs or vanes to sense level. The switch can be used for level detection, pump control, high- or low-level alarms, and to detect an interface between two different materials. A remote amplifier is optional, and can be separated from the probe by up to 500 m. A high-temperature extension lets the unit handle process temperatures up to 150°C. Communication options include GosHawk, DeviceNet, Modbus, HART, and Profibus DP.
