Libelium
The Vehicle Traffic Monitoring Platform from Libelium, Zaragoza, Spain, can sense the flow of Bluetooth devices on a given street, roadway, or passageway while differentiating between hands-free car kits and pedestrian phones. Sensor data are then transferred via a multihop ZigBee radio, via an Internet gateway, to a server when the traffic measurements can be analyzed to address vehicle or pedestrian congestion. The platform uses the Expansion Radio Board for the company's Waspmote platform and lets you connect two different types of radio at the same time. The Bluetooth radio acts as a sensor while the ZigBee radio sends the information collected.
