Ultra-Compact A-GPS Modules from Telit

Telit Wireless Solutions

The SE868 and SL868 from Telit Wireless Solutions Inc., Morrisville, NC, are 48-channel, stand-alone A-GPS modules for the company's GSM/UMTS/CDMA modules. Modules feature high sensitivity, very low power consumption, and extended ephemeris injection for fast time to first fix (TTFF). Applications include size-critical positioning applications, tracking and tracing solutions, and wireless/GPS combo applications that require a very quick fix (<2 s). The modules work independently from a GSM module or application microprocessor and use flash memory to store A-GPS data. Modules support satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS) and have an internal software engine to locally predict the ephemeris for 3 days in advance, starting from ephemeris data collected by satellites.
