The 260A Series triaxial force sensors from
PCB Piezotronics, Inc., Force/Torque Div., Depew, NY, simultaneously measure dynamic and quasi-static forces in 3 orthogonal directions and can be used to study vehicle chassis dynamics at interfaces between shock absorbers, struts, or other chassis components. The force sensor measurements supplement vibration measurements in automobile chassis research by providing the input force that drives the dynamic response from the chassis to the vehicle. Measuring ranges are from 500–4000 lb. in the X, Y directions and from 1000–10,000 lb. in the Z direction.
