Tooth Detecting Sensor Delivers High Running-Mode Edge Accuracy

Tooth Detecting Sensor Delivers High Running-Mode Edge Accuracy
Allegro MicroSystems Inc.

Addressing automotive camshaft applications, the ATS601LSG true zero-speed gear tooth sensor IC provides first-falling-edge detection, high running-mode edge accuracy, and direction/orientation insensitivity over its full operating range of air gap, speed, and temperature. It employs an optimized Hall IC and simple magnetic pellet configuration that switches in response to magnetic signals. The IC contains a low bandwidth filter that boosts noise immunity and the signal-to-noise ratio of the sensor. An internal hysteresis in the thresholds reduces the negative effects of anomalies in the magnetic signal. The ATS601 is available in a four-pin SIP (Suffix SG). Pricing starts at $2.60 each/1,000.
