Packing features that eliminate drift and interference, the IST8301C three-axis digital magnetometer sensor measures 2.5 mm x 2.5 mm x 1 mm in a 12-pin BGA package. Also integrating an ASIC controller, the chip outputs 13-bit data over a magnetic field range of ±1,000 uT via a 400-kHz I2C digital output. Other features include 32 slots of 16-bit FIFO data for each of the three output channels, 2.4V operation, a standby current of 10 µA, and full operation at 300 µA.
