Kaman Precision Products
The Universal ThreadChecker from Kaman Precision Products, Measuring & Memory Systems, Colorado Springs, CO, is an application-specific sensor system designed to check for thread presence/absence. The system can discriminate between a threaded and an unthreaded hole and provide a switched output. It operates with both ferrous and nonferrous materials, including aluminum and can be used with any size probe, without recalibration. Six inductive sensor models are available-2, 4, 6, and 10 mm dia. probes for internal threads and 6 and 8 mm dia. probes for external threads-and both sensors and electronics meet IP67 specifications and are suited for machine shop, in-die, or other industrial environments.
