The NIR borescope (NIR-b) specially designed, short-wavelength radiometric IR camera from Land Instruments Intl., Dronfield, U.K., can capture 656 by 494 pixel thermal images and accurate temperature measurements by viewing directly inside the furnace, using borescope technology. The device installs into the furnace through a small opening in the outer refractory wall (sealed to process) and provides a continuous internal temperature profile. Features include a temperature measurement range of 600°C–1800°C; viewing angle of 44° and 90° inside the vessel, maximizing temperature coverage across 324,000 data points; software that provides measurement data, areas of interest, automated alarms, and long-term data trending; high-performance water cooling; and integrated air purge. Applications include glass melt tanks, reformer tube furnaces, reheat furnaces, and cement kilns. (In the U.S.: 412-826-4444, [email protected], www.ametek-land.com)
