Thermal Imager Delivers Full HD Uncooled

Sierra-Olympic Technologies’ Vayu HD is an uncooled thermal camera with true high definition (1920 x 1200 pixels) that’s capable of 1080p output. It replaces the recently introduced Viento HD and Viento HD IP67 cameras and features the same longwave infrared (LWIR) spectral response from 8 to 14 µm, making it suitable for security, border protection, military imaging, airborne recon, and wide area surveillance. The camera employs a vanadium oxide microbolometer (VOx) sensor with a capacity of over 2.3 million pixels on a 12-micron pixel pitch Sporting an IP67 rating, other features include an athermalized 24 mm F1.1 custom-designed optic, 30-Hz frame rate, and three video formats: HD-SDI, h.264 IP-Video, or 16-bit Camera Link output.
