The ADIS16136 from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, is a tactical-grade iSensor digital MEMS gyroscope that provides 3.5°/hr. typ. bias stability in a 36 by 44 by 14 mm module that consumes <1 W and weighs 25 g. Measurement range is ±450°/s, noise is 0.0036°/s/√Hz rms, in-run bias stability is 3.5°/hr., angular random walk is 0.16°/√hr., bias temperature coefficient is ±0.00125°/s/°C, bandwidth is 380 Hz, and data rates are up to 2048 sps. The device offers an averaging/decimating filter structure to optimize noise/bandwidth tradeoffs, an SPI interface, and a user register structure for access to configuration controls and calibrated sensor data.
