Strain Sensor Handles Mega Measurement Cycles

Strain Sensor Handles Mega Measurement Cycles
Parker Hannifin Corp.

The SNHS High Strain sensor is a thin, lightweight, stretchable, rubber band-like device that offers the ability to take accurate and precision measured strains of over 100% for millions of cycles. It is built with a stretchable, dielectric polymer described as a hyper-elastic silicon rubber that creates a soft, conformable, and rugged sensor. The High-Strain sensors are made using a multi-stage printing process, which allows them to offer a level of flexibility in form factor for easy customization. They can be used in a wide variety of sensing scenarios including compressive and tensile strain, pressure, bending, shear, torsion, and temperature. They can also be used in capacitive or resistive measurement modes, and act as a mechanical displacement to capacitance or resistance transducers.
