The LTC3870 dual-phase, synchronous step-down slave controller can generate currents up to 240A when teaming with a master controller. Compatible devices include the company’s LTC3880 and LTC3883 digital power system management controllers. Other features of the LTC3870 include peak current-mode control, input range from 4.5V to 60V, output-voltage range up to 14V, one to 12-phase operation, programmable phase-shift control, adjustable current sense threshold from 50 mV to 72 mV, phase-lockable fixed operating frequency from 250 kHz to 1 MHz, 1.1Ω gate drivers, and over-voltage and over-current protection.
