The TNS series rigid stem thermometers are promoted as being highly versatile and rugged gas filled thermometers for industrial applications. They are available as simple temperature-indicating devices or as controllers with up to four adjustable set points. The thermometers operate on the nitrogen gas principle. The sensing bulb is filled with inert nitrogen. Any temperature change at the bulb will result in a change in nitrogen pressure. This pressure is sensed in the indicating mechanism and displayed as a change in temperature. The TNS is available with glycerin filling for applications in which vibration is present and with dial sizes ranging from 2.5 in. to 10 in.
