STANDEX-MEDER ELECTRONICS ANNOUNCES POWER AND CURRENT SENSE TRANSFORMERS FOR HVAC/R APPLICATIONS

As companies strive to differentiate themselves in today's competitive marketplace, savvy engineers are finding help from their transformers and power supplies. Custom transformers and power supplies can often help manufacturers to extend their warranties — thus helping them to gain a competitive advantage.

Standex-Meder addresses these needs with robust designs and ancillary services. If the application requires a basic coil transformer, Standex-Meder can supply that. We can also add leads and wiring harnesses to simplify installation and hook up. Have other components that need to work together? Standex-Meder can produce upstream and downstream components — then assemble and test them to ensure efficacy. Additional services such as over-molding and potting ensure proper form fit and function and protect these robust designs from the environmental factors — providing years of trouble free services.

As companies combine multiple HVAC components which are centrally controlled, the need for custom transformers is apparent. For example, one HVAC company utilizes a condenser and an evaporator, both of which are controlled by a central control system. All three of these components have diverse current requirements which are supplied by a single Standex-Meder custom transformer.

Standex Current Sensors Keep Frozen Drinks at Optimal Consistency

When companies need to deliver their delicious frozen drink concoctions at just the right consistency, they rely on Standex-Meder current sensors and transformers. By understanding the process first, and then designing a product to those parameters, our engineers determined that monitoring current draw was a more effective means of achieving product consistency than measuring temperature. Agitator paddles draw more current as the drink mixture freezes. Monitoring current draw (with a Standex-Meder current sensor) allows us to stop and the restart the refrigerant flow (with a Standex-Meder custom transformer) to maintain proper consistency — with far more accuracy than merely monitoring temperature.

Standex-Meder does not employ a "make it fit" mentality but rather designs to your parameters. Whether that means unique current draw, special voltage outputs or constrained footprint parameters, Standex-Meder engineers take it all in stride. We can deliver basic transformer coils, add leads and wiring harnesses, even add additional components to complete the assembly, and then over-mold or pot them so that the final product is impervious to the elements.
