SST Sensing Intend Building on their Success

SST Sensing the Lanarkshire based industrial sensor manufacturer has reported strong growth in the last 12 months and plans to enter the American market.

For SST Sensing’s financial year, the 12 months to May 2014, the company enjoyed a 22% increase in sales vindicating their decision to focus on export and emerging markets. The company believes that their investment in research and development as well their flexible approach to manufacturing has given them a significant advantage.

Announcing the results SST’s Managing Director, Keith Wight applauded their workforce. “As an SME we are able to respond to market demands and customer requirements very quickly. This flexibility is important, our sensors are used in such a variety of ways that customers often ask us to adapt them. This must be done whilst maintaining exceptionally high standards and these figures are a credit to everyone here.”

SST Sensing are targeting America and hope to have partners in place later this year. “The American sensor market is enormous, it’s projected to grow by over 6% annually to be worth $14.9 billion by 2016 in the United States alone. Technology is driving this growth, with electronics, automotive, aerospace and industrial sectors all demanding faster more accurate measurement.
