Designed to detect belt slip, belt under speed, stop motion, low or zero speed on bucket elevators and other rotating machines, the Milli-Speed switch is a loop-powered, 4 to 20 mA analog output speed switch for PLC, DCS, or stand-alone controllers. An inductive sensing device in its nose detects a ferrous metal target such as a bolt head or device attached to a shaft. During installation, the switch is set to a machine’s normal running speed by magnetic calibration and the output signal automatically scales for zero to full speed with over-speed detection. Additionally, the switch is encapsulated in a polycarbonate body and is approved for CSA class II division 1 groups E, F & G hazardous dust environments.
