Software Manages Multi-Vendor, Multi-Technology Networks

NICE, France /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lucent Technologies announced enhanced versions of its award-winning VitalQIP IP Address Management software and VitalSuite Performance Management software. Both solutions will be demonstrated or shown for the first time in Lucent's booth Hall 2, Stand 15 at TeleManagement World in Nice, France, this week.

Lucent's VitalQIP 7.0 IP Address Management software includes a new user interface for ease of use and enhanced productivity; new features that enhance IP address management business processes to reduce operating expenses; and support for Internet Protocol 4.0 (IPv4) and 6.0 (IPv6), with new security and configuration capabilities.

IPv6 is the next generation of Internet Protocol. It provides a virtually unlimited number of IP addresses, improved performance and security, and enhanced support for mobile and advanced IP services.

The expanded capacity enables business and consumers to enjoy enhanced multimedia lifestyle services across IP networks using dramatically increased numbers of phones, computers, cameras, personal digital assistants, portable music and video players, remote sensors, and other emerging technologies.

"The new releases of VitalQIP and VitalSuite will help service providers, government, and enterprise customers optimize their business and services management in current and emerging IPv6 networks," said Ashok Shah, vice president of professional services, Lucent Worldwide Services. "The new releases provide true service intelligence to support the management of multi-vendor, multi-technology networks and are targeted at network operators, as well as enterprise and government customers, who can't tolerate application and network downtime and need a single consolidated view of their network and application infrastructure."

Lucent's VitalSuite Performance Management 10.0 integrates three application and network management software modules that allow service providers and enterprise customers to apply a unified network management architecture across multi-vendor deployments.

It offers network operators real-time views of complex application and Web services transactions, critical network resources, and overall service-quality compliance. It also includes new performance management features to integrate multi-level domains; additional technology support for IMS, WiMAX, and Ethernet; client-usage accounting; and service indicator group scoring for improved end user quality characterization.

In addition, Lucent also announced its first application of VitalSuite Services Management software. The software uses session analytics tools to increase services completion and associated billed revenue across voice, VoIP, content, mobile, messaging, and IMS technologies and services. VitalSuite Services Management includes six modules that provide a rich set of functions to effectively and efficiently manage service quality in converged networks. With this platform, service providers can quickly and easily identify and correct the call irregularities that impact call quality and customer churn.
