Telion-1300 software-defined radios from Lexycom Technologies Inc., Longmont, CO, are data diverse, 1350–1390 MHz miniature transceivers that now have Push-to-Talk capability. The fully digital, flexible, user-programmable data transceiver has RF channel throughput of up to 1.2 MBps and has several high-speed communication building blocks, including Matrix-type interleaver/de-interleaver, convolutional FEC, Viterbi soft-decoder, fully compliant SDLC, and a high-speed (up to 3.5 MBps) synchronous/asynchronous serial interface. Push-to-Talk functionality supports 330 slots/s timing with the future capability to extend it up to 1000 slots/s; Push-to-Talk remote units can operate in RF-Sync or 1PPS-Sync modes.
