Soft-Termination MLCCs Keep ESR Low

TDK Corporation claims to have developed the industry’s first soft-termination multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) with low equivalent series resistance (ESR), comparable to traditional MLCCs. The CN series features terminal electrodes with a conductive resin layer that provides high mechanical robustness to protect against board flexure. Capacitance values range from 2.2 µF to 22 µF and voltages ratings run from 16V to 100V. Based on X7R dielectric material, commercial grade and automotive grade types are available. The latter are qualified to AEC-Q200.
