The DSP-1750 from KVH Industries Inc., Middletown, RI, is a super-compact, high-performance FOG with input rates five times faster than the DSP-1500 FOG as well as five times better angle random walk and eight times better bias stability than the DSP-3000 series. Offered in single- and dual-axis configurations and with optional magnetic shielding, the device uses 170 µm E-Core ThinFiber technology and combines a 1.7 in. diameter optical sensor connected to separate power and processing electronics via a robust interlocking tether. Stabilization, pointing, and navigation applications include gimbals, optical/antenna stabilization, long-range optical and sensor systems, UAV payloads, and weapon and commercial equipment stabilization.
