The Wilcoxon Research 787T from Meggitt Sensing Systems, Germantown, MD, is a side-exit, low-profile, dual-output general-purpose accelerometer with a built-in temperature sensor. Suited for route-based or permanent-mount applications, the device combines a general-purpose 100 mV/g vibration sensor with ±5% sensitivity tolerance and 3 dB frequency response from 0.5 Hz to 12 kHz with a temperature sensor that gives a 10 mV/°C signal for tracking sensor mounting location temperatures from 2°C–120°C. Applications include monitoring industrial rotating equipment including fans, blowers, pumps, compressors, chillers, gearboxes, mixers, and motors.
